So close to the cup/ Tan cerca de la copa

Are you a football fan? I must confess that even though I was very keen on our local team Osasuna when I was a teenager, nowadays I am completely out of this world. However, I am aware of the fact that never has been Osasuna so close to win a King Cup since 2004, year in which I could enjoy the experience of being in the final, and It was amazing. 

If I don´t recall wrong, the match took place around May in Madrid, in the stadium of Atletico de Madrid, against Betis. As I´ve said, it was a remarkable day. Unfortunately there was a huge problem with the handing out of the tickets, thus loads of fans had no choice but to stay in Pamplona and watch the match on TV. For instance my parents gently gave their tickets to my brothers. The point is that we left Pamplona quite early on a bus full of nervousness and hope, where we were talking about the party that we were going to have in Pamplona when we came back from Madrid, something that never happened. 

Once we reached the capital, we spent the whole day in a space exclusively organised for us called the Carpa rojilla since the hooligans of Madrid were threatening to infringe violence on us. Nevertheless, that space was rather entertaining, the perfect waiting room for the real match which was held at night. 

Frankly speaking we lost, but the match was unbelievable and the ambiance that we had with the fans of Betis was speechless, therefore that night was a night that we will never forget, above all myself since my favourite player scored. At this time I don´t follow Osasuna, I am not going to lie, nonetheless, I honestly hope that all of you have the same enthusiasm and hope that we had in 2004 and you end up celebrating the well deserved trophy that you are so dreaming of.

¿Eres futbolero? Debo confesar que aunque cuando era adolescente yo era muy osasunista, a día de hoy el fútbol no me gusta nada. No obstante, soy consciente de que Osasuna nunca ha llegado a estar tan cerca de ganar una Copa del Rey desde el año 2004, año en el que fui afortunada de vivir en vivo la final, y fue increíble.

Si no recuerdo mal, el partido tuvo lugar por mayo en Madrid, en el estadio del atlético de Madrid, en contra del Betis. Como ya he dicho, fue un día impresionante. De hecho, partimos muy temprano en un autobús lleno de nervios y esperanza, donde se planeaba la fiesta que íbamos a montar en Pamplona al volver de la capi, cosa que nunca sucedió.

Una vez que llegamos a Madrid, pasamos todo el día en una carpa exclusiva para nosotros, la Carpa rojilla, ya que los ultras del Madrid estaban amenazándonos con infringir violencia sobre nosotros. No obstante, este espacio era muy divertido, la perfecta sala de espera antes del partido que tenía lugar a la noche.

En verdad perdimos, pero el partido fue increíble y el ambiente con los aficionados del Betis inmejorable. Una noche para recordar, sobre todo yo que mi jugador favorito metió gol. Actualmente no sigo a Osasuna, pero espero que tengáis el mismo entusiasmo y esperanza que teníamos en el 2004, y que ya de paso acabéis levantando la copa que tan merecida tenéis.
