Happy father´s day! / ¡ Feliz día del padre!

 Sometimes we tend to highlight the role of our mothers so much that perhaps our fathers might end up somewhat overshadowed, however, that doesn't mean that we take them for granted. Not at all. In fact, I reckon that, alongside with our mums, our dads have great influence on us and on our decisions, since we look them up enormously. 

Today is their day. The day in which a lot of families meet together to be grateful for their support and their love. Nevertheless, to be honest, we shouldn´t wait until the 19th March to show gratitude, but we should do it every single day since they have spent years and years, our entire lives, trying their best so we can have the best possible future.

More specifically, when we are growing up, they are our best guidance, bringing to us the best education they think they can provide. To cap it all, they are the ones that believe in us even if the rest of the world doesn´t. As a matter of fact, they believe so much in us that the spend their savings in our future.

On the other hand, when we get older and they let us fly alone, they remain behind us just in case we fall. They keep an eye on us letting us make our own decisions, always ready to catch us should we make mistakes or should life turn against us. 

So, I am sure that we all agree that definitely, we all should be grateful for all the unselfish support our fathers give us everyday and try to compensate them for that, at least with lots of love. Happy father´s day!

A veces tendemos a subrayar el papel de las madres tanto que quizás el papel de los padres quede un poco en la sobra, pero eso no quiere decir que les demos menos importancia. Para nada, de hecho, pienso que junto con nuestras madres, ellos ejercen una gran influencia en nosotros y en nuestras decisiones.

Hoy es su día, el día en que muchas familias se juntan para agradecer todo el apoyo y amor que han dado. No obstante, para ser honestos, no deberíamos esperar hasta el 19 de marzo para mostrar gratitud, sino que deberíamos hacerlo todos los días, ya que se han pasado años y años, nuestras vida entera, intentando darnos el mejor de los futuros.

De forma más específica, cuando estamos creciendo ellos son nuestra mejor guía, otorgándonos la mejor educación que ellos consideran. Para rematar, ellos son los que creen en nosotros cuando el resto del mundo no da ni un duro. De hecho, creen tanto en nosotros que se gastan sus ahorros en nosotros.

Por otro lado, cuando nos hacemos mayores y nos dejan volar solos, se quedan justo detrás nuestra en caso de que caigamos. Y es que están pendientes de nosotros, dejándonos tomar nuestras propias decisiones preparados para cogernos si nos equivocamos o si la vida nos da de lado.

Así que estoy segura de que todos estamos de acuerdo en que deberíamos ser más agradecidos por el generoso apoyo que nuestros padres nos dan cada día, e intentar compensarlo de alguna forma, aunque sea con cariño. ¡Feliz día del padre!
