Are you aware of the new drama starred by the BBC? To sum up, Gary Lineker, the host of Match of the day, has been suspended due to the publication of a Tweet that was deemed inappropriate. Why? To be more specific, he referred to the new immigration plan of the Prime Minister of the UK, Rishi Sunak, as a Nazi measure. Do you agree with his suspension? The debate is heated since it is widely believed that had the comment been in favour of the Government, the consequences would have been different.
To begin with, from my point of view the comparison with Hitler might be somewhat over the line, however, I kind of agree with Lineker. To my mind the new immigration plan of Sunak is outrageous. He has got obsessed with the idea of getting rid of the mafias, notwithstanding, sending refugees back to the war or to another poor country is not going to make them stop.
As a matter of fact, illegal immigrants risk their lives so as to reach the UK out of desperation, and that is why illegal gangs take advantage of them. Therefore, why don’t we try to go to the root of the problem?, how can we make these people stop being so eager to leave their country in a tiny dangerous small boat?
Having said that, wouldn’t it be better to create safer ways of leaving their countries?, or what is more, why don’t we have a go in the fight against their political corruption? Perhaps because economically speaking this corruption makes rich states become wealthier.
On the whole, I believe that this plan is treating immigrants as numbers and not as human beings. Nevertheless, disagreeing with it doesn't give you the right to publish on Tweeter comments so out of place. A principle that is imbedded in the deontological code of the BBC. Hopefully Sunak will soon realise the cruelty of his measures. Hopefully.

Para resumir, Gary Lineker, el presentador del programa Partido del Día, ha sido suspendido debido a la publicación de un Tweet considerado como inapropiado. Y es que ha comparado la política de inmigración del Primer Ministro del Reino Unido, Rishi Sunak, con las políticas nazis. ¿Estás de acuerdo con la suspensión? El debate está servido, ya que se dice que si hubiese sido un comentario a favor del gobierno, las consecuencias habrían sido distintas.
Para empezar, desde mi punto de vista la comparación con Hitler está un poco fuera de lugar, sin embargo, estoy en parte de acuerdo con él. La nueva política migratoria de Sunak es horrible. Está obsesionado con erradicar las mafias, en cambio, mandar refugiados de vuelta a la guerra o a otros países pobres no va a hacer que paren.
De hecho, los inmigrantes ilegages arriesgan sus vidas por llegar al Reino Unido, y por ello las mafias se aprovechan. De esta forma, ¿por qué no vamos a la raiz del problema?, ¿cómo conseguimos que dejen de querer huir de su países en una bote enano y peligroso?
Con todo, pienso que este plan trata a los inmigrantes como números y no como seres humanos. Sin embargo, no estar de acuerdo con él no te da derecho a publicar Tweets tan fuera de lugar. Un principio incluído en el código deontológico de la BBC. Esperemos que Sunak se de cuente pronto de la cruealidad de sus medidas. Esperemos.
