Enough is enough! / ¡Basta!

Have you seen the images of food being delivered in Gaza by parachutes? Frankly speaking, I’m in shock. This method of delivery is being described as heroic, however, it’s anything but that, don’t you think? Much of the aid lands in the sea and only creates chaos among a population already desperate and starving. Don’t you agree? Take another look at the videos published in the news.

To begin with, when the desperately needed food arrives, Palestinians jump into the ocean as if there were no tomorrow, risking their lives in a desperate attempt to survive. On top of that, much of the aid gets damaged, and who knows how much of it goes to waste. In addition, to make matters worse, since there is no kind of organization or rational distribution, I’m sure that some people end up taking more than their fair share, leaving others with nothing.

Ashamed, I feel absolutely ashamed watching these scenes. Are we even aware of the fact that we’re delivering food as if the inhabitants of Gaza were animals? To be honest, I was already deeply disturbed by the way aid has been handled so far, with a complete lack of control, system, or organization. But this parachuting method is the tip of the iceberg.

Who is to blame? Israel? If so, enough is enough. You have already killed far more Palestinians than Hamas did on that fateful October 7th. The excuse of “trying to defeat Hamas” no longer works. Are we truly expected to believe that Hamas is hidden among this poor, starving population? Haven’t you learned anything from how the Nazis treated you? Not until this destruction ends will justice even begin to take shape.

When will it be enough for you? Seriously, if Netanyahu is unwilling to stop on his own, someone needs to intervene, and quickly. Sadly, it’s certainly true that human beings are capable of both the best and the worst. Hopefully, one day, this nightmare will end.

¿Has visto las imágenes de comida siendo entregada en Gaza en paracaídas? Sinceramente, estoy en estado de shock. Este método de entrega está siendo descrito como un gesto heroico, pero la verdad es que de heroico no tiene nada, ¿no crees? Gran parte de la ayuda cae al mar y solo genera caos entre una población ya desesperada y hambrienta. ¿No estás de acuerdo? Vuelve a mirar los vídeos publicados en las noticias.

Para empezar, cuando llega la tan necesaria comida, los palestinos se lanzan al océano como si no hubiera un mañana, arriesgando sus vidas en un intento desesperado por sobrevivir. Además, muchas de esas bolsas de ayuda se rompen, y quién sabe cuánta cantidad acaba desperdiciada. Y para colmo, como no hay ningún tipo de organización ni distribución racional, estoy convencida de que algunos acaban llevándose más de lo que les corresponde, dejando a otros sin nada.

Avergonzada. Me siento absolutamente avergonzada al ver estas escenas. ¿Somos realmente conscientes de que estamos entregando comida como si los habitantes de Gaza fueran animales? Para ser sincera, ya estaba profundamente perturbada por la forma en que se ha gestionado la ayuda hasta ahora, con una total falta de control, sistema u organización. Pero los paracaídas me parecen la gota que colma el vaso.

¿A quién hay que culpar? ¿A Netanyahu? Si es así, ya está bien. Ya habéis matado a muchos más palestinos de los que mató Hamás en aquel fatídico 7 de octubre. La excusa de “estamos intentando derrotar a Hamás” ya no sirve. ¿De verdad se espera que creamos que Hamás se esconde entre esta población pobre y hambrienta? ¿No habéis aprendido nada de cómo os trataron los nazis? 

¿Cuándo va a ser suficiente para vosotros? En serio, si Netanyahu no está dispuesto a parar por sí solo, alguien tiene que intervenir, y pronto. Tristemente, es cierto que el ser humano es capaz de lo mejor y de lo peor. Ojalá algún día esta pesadilla llegue a su fin.
