Christmas lights / Luces de Navidad

I am sure that, in your city, as well as everywhere, the Christmas lights are already on along the streets. Do you like them? I know that some of them have pretty weird designs, but, besides that, do you enjoy having your city illuminated, or do you consider it a simple waste of money?

From my point of view, I believe that having our streets illuminated is somewhat charming. I am not saying that we have to have thousands of lights, however, I find them quite enjoyable. And I know that, frankly speaking, they put up Christmas lights so you may want to buy more presents for Christmas, but I believe that they also make the town cozier and warmer.

To be honest, the reason why I raise this question is that I have heard some people complaining about them, stating that they hate Christmas lights since they are a waste of money. Nevertheless, if we think about it, many things are a waste. For example, the makeup that you put on is also a waste. Why do you put on more makeup? To feel prettier?

Having said that, what I am trying to convey is that, as long as we don't waste too much money on them, and as long as we somehow respect the environment, what is the problem with brightening your life a little bit? Why do we have to always be the Grinch of Christmas?

Of course, it is a fake holiday designed to make us waste loads of money, nevertheless, we can instead see this period of the year as a time to be with our family, something that not many people do during the year. What are your thoughts on this?

Estoy segura de que, en tu ciudad, así como en todas partes, las luces de Navidad ya están encendidas a lo largo de las calles. ¿Te gustan? Desde mi punto de vista, creo que tener nuestras calles iluminadas es algo encantador. No estoy diciendo que debamos tener miles de luces, pero, las encuentro bastante agradables. Y sé que, sinceramente, colocan luces navideñas para que quieras comprar más regalos para Navidad, pero creo que también hacen que la ciudad sea más acogedora y cálida.

Para ser honestos, la razón por la que planteo esta pregunta es porque he escuchado a algunas personas que se quejan de ellas, diciendo que odian las luces de Navidad porque son un desperdicio de dinero. Sin embargo, si lo pensamos, muchas cosas son un desperdicio. Por ejemplo, el maquillaje que te pones también es un desperdicio. ¿Por qué te pones más maquillaje? ¿Para sentirte más guapa o guapo?

Dicho esto, lo que estoy tratando de transmitir es que, siempre y cuando no gastemos demasiado dinero en ellas, y siempre y cuando de alguna manera respetemos el medio ambiente, ¿cuál es el problema en iluminar un poco tu vida? ¿Por qué tenemos que ser siempre el Grinch de la Navidad? Por supuesto, es una fiesta falsa diseñada para hacernos gastar mucho dinero, pero también podemos ver este período del año como un momento para estar con nuestra familia, algo que no mucha gente hace. ¿Qué piensas al respecto?
