The Crown

Have you had the chance to watch the new and last season of The Crown? I must say that I was really looking forward to it, but after seeing this latest drama about the English royal family, I feel nothing but disappointment. In my opinion, it's too short and quite unrealistic. What do you reckon?

This season was utterly expected by everyone since everybody knew that it was going to focus on the death of Lady Di. However, I am of the opinion that the Royal Family has made sure that the image of the now King Charles wasn't tarnished.

From my point of view, the producers have tried to convey the image that Charles was nothing but a gentleman with her, something that I find difficult to believe. More specifically, when the Princess of Wales died, the reaction of the former Prince of Wales is absolutely unrealistic. Indeed, after all the drama that the two of them lived, after being so miserable for being married to her, his dramatic tears are far from true to life.

What's more, the scene where Charles goes for a walk and has a moment of deep sorrow does not add up either with the toxic relationship that they used to have. Not to mention the fact that he begs the Queen to hold a public funeral for her, as if all of a sudden he cared for her after all the pain inflicted.

All in all, I have to say that it seems to me that should Charles still be prince and not the King, the short last season of The Crown would be quite different. And, by the way, why is it too short, and why does the series have to end?

¿Has tenido la oportunidad de ver la nueva y última temporada de The Crown? Debo decir que tenía muchas expectativas, pero una vez que he visto este último drama sobre la familia real británica, solo tengo palabras de decepción. En mi opinión, es demasiado corta y bastante irreal. ¿Qué opinas?

Todo el mundo estaba ansioso por ver esta temporada, ya que era evidente que se iba a centrar en la muerte de Lady Di. Sin embargo, tengo la impresión de que la Familia Real se ha asegurado de que la imagen del ahora rey Carlos no quedara empañada.

Desde mi punto de vista, los productores han intentado transmitir la imagen de que Carlos no era más que el ex marido perfecto con ella, algo que me resulta difícil de creer. Especialmente, la reacción del ex Príncipe de Gales tras la muerte de la Princesa de Gales es totalmente irreal. De hecho, tras todo el drama que vivieron juntos, después de estar tan deprimido por estar casado con ella, su numerito de lágrimas está lejos de la realidad.

Además, la escena en la que Carlos sale a pasear y tiene un momento de profundo dolor no encaja con la relación tóxica que solían tener. Por no mencionar el hecho de que ruega a la Reina que celebre un funeral público para ella, como si de repente le importara después de todo el dolor infligido.

En definitiva, tengo que decir que considero que si Carlos todavía fuera príncipe y no el Rey, la última temporada de The Crown sería bastante diferente. Y, por cierto, ¿por qué es tan corta esta temporada y por qué tiene que terminar la serie?
