Estopa: back to my teenage years/ Estopa: vuelta a mi adolescencia

Did you attend the 25th anniversary of Estopa? Half of Pamplona was there, or at least half of the population in their thirties and forties. I had the pleasure of going, and it was amazing. Are you a fan of this band? If so, don’t miss the opportunity to see these brothers from Catalonia, who are doing a big tour around Spain. But what can you expect from this tour?

Frankly, it’s quite normal to wonder whether you should go to one of these concerts or not, as most of us no longer listen to their music nor are we up to date with their career. However, bear in mind that the 25th anniversary is a nostalgia gig, so if you’re an old fan, you’ll definitely enjoy yourself.

In fact, from the very beginning, the Catalan brothers bring back their old songs, one by one, transporting you back to your teenage years. You’ll be delighted by classic hits like La Raja de tu Falda and A la Orilla del Río, among others. To be honest, even though it’s been ages since I followed them, I recognised ninety per cent of their setlist. Nevertheless, it’s a pity they didn’t perform the song dedicated to the film Planta Cuarta. I was really looking forward to that one and felt somewhat disappointed.

As for the organisation, I feel compelled to point out the terrible job done by Navarra Arena. To start with, being on the ground level was an absolute nightmare due to the increased capacity of the sports hall, allowing them to sell more tickets. There were too many people, and the heat and overcrowding were often overwhelming. In fact, some people suffered from dizziness and had to be assisted. Moreover, if you wanted to get a drink, you had to wait an average of thirty or forty minutes given the low number of staff at the bar, which is unacceptable.

All in all, I had a great time at the concert, and after the show, I was pleasantly surprised by the DJ hired by the bar at Navarra Arena, who played 90s music. However, the number of spectators was excessive, and I still don’t understand how the bar was organised. It was undoubtedly a total failure. I can’t imagine what would have happened if there had been an emergency. So, tell me, how was your experience at the concert?

¿Fuiste al 25º aniversario de Estopa? La mitad de Pamplona estaba allí, o al menos la mitad de la población que está en la treintena y cuarentena. Tuve el placer de ir, y fue increíble. ¿Eres fan de este grupo? Si es así, no pierdas la oportunidad de ver a estos hermanos de Cataluña que están haciendo una gran gira por España. Pero, ¿qué puedes esperar de ella?

Francamente, es normal preguntarse si vale la pena ir a uno de estos conciertos o no, ya que la mayoría de nosotros ya no escuchamos su música ni estamos al día con sus nuevos discos. Sin embargo, ten en cuenta que el 25º aniversario es un concierto remember, así que si eres un viejo fan, seguro que lo disfrutarás.

De hecho, desde el principio, los hermanos catalanes repasan sus canciones antiguas, una por una, transportándote de vuelta a tu adolescencia. Y es que te lo pasarás pipa con clásicos como La Raja de tu Falda y A la Orilla del Río, entre otros. Para ser sinceros, aunque hace siglos que no los sigo, conocía el noventa por ciento de las canciones. No obstante, es una pena que no cantaran la canción dedicada a la película Planta Cuarta. La esperaba con muchas ganas.

En cuanto a la organización, hay que señalar el pésimo trabajo realizado por Navarra Arena. Para empezar, estar en la pista fue una pesadilla debido a la ampliación de la capacidad del pabellón deportivo, lo que les permitió vender más entradas. Había demasiada gente, y el calor y la aglomeración eran a menudo insoportables. Es más, algunas personas sufrieron mareos y tuvieron que ser atendidas. Además, si querías pedir algo, tenías que esperar una media de treinta o cuarenta minutos por el escaso número de camareros en el bar, lo cual es inaceptable.

Con todo, me lo pasé muy bien en el concierto, y después del espectáculo, me sorprendió gratamente el DJ contratado por el bar de Navarra Arena, que pinchó música de los años 90. En cambio, la cantidad de espectadores era excesiva, y todavía no entiendo cómo se organizó el bar. Sin duda, la organización fue un fracaso total. No me quiero imaginar qué habría pasado si hubiera ocurrido una emergencia.
